First, I want you all to know that I am so proud of the concerted efforts of the entire Information Technology Services organization over these past five months. You’ve worked tremendously hard to not only continue our seamless service to the University community but also to meet new technology demands under these critical circumstances.

As we all know, UNCG has approved bringing staff back to campus in a reduced capacity. To align with this approach, ITS will only bring back staff who must be on campus to do their jobs. Certain team members who work out of McNutt, Campus Supply, 1100 W. Market, Stone, and Jackson Library will return to campus (outlined below). Neal St. staff will continue to work remotely, returning to campus only on an as-needed, supervisor-approved basis.

ITS staff will return to campus according to the following general guidelines:

  • Masks must be worn at all times while on campus, including in personal workspaces.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be distributed to all ITS employees working on campus. Each ITS employee will receive a mask, gloves, and a fandana.
  • In instances where there is not sufficient space for 6 ft. social distancing, work schedules will be rotated and/or employees will be placed in different locations. Supervisors will provide seating and scheduling details.
  • Staff whose job functions do not require them to be on-campus will continue to work remotely, except on an as-needed basis. When working remotely, all staff will perform their duties according to the forthcoming ITS Telework Policy.

ITS staff working on campus in McNutt, Campus Supply, 1100 W. Market, Stone, and Jackson Library will follow the specific guidelines of their work locations:
McNutt ITS Staff
CHP (Campus Supply)
ITS Learning Technology (1100 W. Market Street and Stone)
SuperLab (Jackson Library)

(All guidelines are subject to change.)

As we welcome back our community for the 2020-2021 academic year, I do anticipate challenges. However, more importantly, I see our continued success in meeting them. I hope you all share the same confidence in yourselves that I do in you.

Please stay safe and have a great year!
